Empress RGS by ESCUDO I out of an Anforan/Wendekreis mare Anna Marie

Escudo I was the winner of the stallion performance test in 1994 and achieved a convincing 144.90 points in the jumping category. He is a son of Celle State stallion ESPRI, who is known world wide for producing outstanding jumping horses such as ET. Escudo I exhibited phenomenal jumping talent at testing and won the six year old Jumper champion title in 1997. Escudo I is outstanding in type and expression, is well muscled and has excellent gaits. So far Escudo I has produced convincing crop of foals, including several winning foals at regional foal shows and the top price foal of the Verden Spring Auction in 1998.

According to the Hanoverian stallion yearbook, Dr. Ludwig Christman, ESCUDO I is currently ranking 5th out of all Hanoverian approved sires for passing typiness and riding horse point in his offspring.

October 2001 update: Escudo I is recently landing one hit after the other. At first 4 yo Escudo I – daughter Etoscha (dam by Raphael) won the hanoverian jumper championates at Dobrock with Embassy (by Escudo – Silvio) placing second, then two Escudo I – sons, El Bundy and Etrusco to name them – do it again at the Celle State Stud performance test this fall at Adelheidsdorf: El Bundy wins and Etrusco placed second.

At the age of 5 Escudo became Hanoverian jumping champion and became vice federal champion. He has produced internationally successful jumpers like Enorm (Ludger Beerbaum), Escobar (Thomas Weinberg) and El Paso (Jessico Kurten, Markus Beerbaum). For a number of years Escudo I has been one of the most prolific producers of jumping horses in Germany and holds an index of 151.

Some 306 Escudo I daughters have been graded in the Hanoverian breed and 83 have been granted state premium status. 89 foals and 67 riding horses have been sold through the auctions in Verden and 25 sons of his have been licensed; 15 of these are approved in the Hanoverian studbook. Escudo’s sons Earl and El Bundy have won their stallion licensing performance test just like their sire. His son Embassy is one of the most sought-after jumping sires in the Hanoverian breed.

On the Dam side, Anna Marie is by Anforan xx, Spruce Meadows’s long standing TB Stallion approved Hanoverian . He competed successfully in the HUNTER div, winning championships in confirmation and working hunter classes. Anna Marie’s Dam, Wynesta, was sired by WENDEKREIS. Wendekreis had the biggest influence, producing many stallions. Conformation-wise, his offspring are very correct, Among his stallion sons some tend to the dressage direction like Wendelin and Wenderberg while others arc more versatile. This indicates the mother’s influence. Wendekreis is regarded as one of the most influential stallions of the past few decades and is well known as a producer of riding horses with excellent trainability.
