I wanted to thank Page Brook Farms for breeding Garth and giving me the opportunity to partner [purchase] with him.

In our last two rides, I have been utterly amazed by him. Our first ride over a jumping course, he was smart, keen, and honest. He was cognizant of where he was in relation to the fences and distances despite the varying terrain and distracting stimuli outside the jumping field. Yesterday’s ride was even more fun – we did some conditioning sets in an open field. He was eating up the ground with such ease and reacting to cues to balance and adjust his stride as though he had been doing so for years. Though tempted to gallop, I restrained myself given his youth and willing spirit. As a rising four year old, I am impressed with his maturity, kind temperament and intelligence.

He is an absolute blast. You’ve bred not only a wonderful competitor, but a wonderful companion. He enhances my well-being and I am excited for our future together!

ELOWAY (Galoubet/Irish Rulerxx/Penaction xx) is in foal to CLAIRE DE LUNE  (Contendor/Largo Z)  She is due the second week in March. So many questions go through your mind. Will it be a colt or filly? What color will he be? Will he have his dam’s blaze and stockings or will he be grey like his sire? What kind of personality will the foal have?  And so the waiting game continues.

EM ARABELLA RGS (Acord II/Wendelin/Marconi) is in foal to CRESPO (Canturo/Candillo/Quidam de Revel)  She is due first week in June 2012.

BREEDING SCHEDULE FOR 2012

Spring time is such a meaningful time of the year. Everything is fresh and the new; the air smells different in ways one cannot define! The sky is bright blue and the grass is beginning to take on that beautiful green glow that only is seen in spring. The pastures are taking shape and the mares  are feeling it in their being too.  Yes with the tail up in the air you see them trotting and cantering in the pastures giving signs of being in heat. All the  research, time, effort and thought that has gone into choosing a stallion is going to be put to test this season.

OUR 2012 PROJECTED BREEDING:

Cassini I - Caretino - Carneval

We would like to introduce our newest broodmare, La Vinia IV,  fondly known as Sushi  by Cassini I.   Stamm 730b.

Sushi has been accepted as Main Mare Premium Select with AHHA in 2006 , reserve site Champion scoring 52 bonits.  Sushi had a very successful career in Europe jumping 1.50m and 1.40m in the USA with an amateur.   We are looking forward to breeding her with exceptional stallions and continuing our tradition of producing premium foals.

Sushi will be ready to breed in the spring of 2012.

Garth won 3year old division at the 2011 FEH  hosted by Stony Brook!

Ensign on Deck RGS (Emitt) also participated in the 2011 FEH and took third place for 2 year olds! Katie Murphy, the owner, showed Emitt in hand.

We are very proud of Katie for doing an exceptional job with the the horses. Terry and I remember foaling them! and here they are in the rings!  You go girl! Good Job!  Keep up with the good work of training and showing and we will work harder to keep breeding exceptional horses for our Athletes.

What a great time! Thank you BWP Team!  All our foals did very well!  the lowest score was 74!!!! Our mares score ranged from 69 to 80!  What more could we ask? Our big Thank you to the young team, Alyssa, Rajal, Anna (our newest member ), Danielle Amanda,Katie and Reena for getting the horses ready for the ring.

Our handlers, Alyssa, Danielle and Amanda did an exceptional job!  It was a hot muggy day for handling the horses but they never complained! It was a pleasure to see such wonderful youngsters working together as a team.

The branding of the foals went very smoothly!  No bucking and rearing . . . just an after thought! OUCH! that was a big bite!  The BWP team, Chris Salle, Boudewijn Schepers and Taylor did an excellent job, moved the day along smoothly and efficiently on their directions.

Lisa, Tammy and Alison from our office, Amerident Dental were a blessing at the Keuring . . . Lisa took over the kitchen and served some delicious meals! Without Tammy and Alison, I think I would have been in the house cleaning up and getting things ready for the inspection! Thank you to all of you.

Argentinus – Anforan – Wendekreis

The rest of the Amerident Dental gang, Kerry, Tanya and Sorvanna showed up on Friday night after the inspection for the BBQ next day!

It was a wonderful weekend!

The Keuring was like studying for an exam and passing with flying colors!!!  Terry’s hard work researching the Stallions and pedigrees and all those articles that he read and talking to many, many people finally paid off!  Good job Terry!
